On the previous match day Pyunik had its 5th victory in a row and now leads alone the standings. Our team has 52 points and surpasses by 3 points the second and third place holders, Ararat-Armenia and Banants, respectively. Banants has still to play one more match.

Out of 5 match days left to the end of the championship Pyunik has to play 4 where its opponents will be  Artsakh, Banants, Lori and Ararat. The last day of the championship will be a day off for Pyunik.

On the next 32nd match day Pyunik will be received by Artsakh. Pyunik was invincible playing against the last one, as well as Shirak in the ongoing championship. Till now the luck was on our team’s side in two matches out of three while one match ended in a tie.

This season the first match between Pyunik and Artsakh took place on the 5th day of the championship where our team due to Rumyan Hovsepyan’s and Erik Vardanyan’s goals at Republican Stadium managed to gain advantage, 2-0. It was our team’s 3rd successive win in the first 3 matches which allowed Pyunik to lead the standings for the first time after 5 match days of the current championship.

The teams’ next match took place on day 14 where Pyunik failed to find the key to the opponent’s goal and the match ended in a draw. By the way, in one of the episodes of the second half of the match as a result of colliding with the rival our team's Russian goalkeeper, Evgeni Kobozev, injured his jaw and hasn’t entered the pitch yet..

The last match of the teams in the framework of the current championship was played on March 16, on the 23rd match day of the Premier League where Mohamed Konate’s only goal brought a victory to our team. By the way that was Pyunik’s 700th jubilee match in the Armenian Premier League.
