Pyunik forward Matas Vareika will play for Lithuanian club Žalgiris on loan until the end of this year.

Vareika joined our team in March 2025, moving from Vilnius Zalgiris.

The 26-year-old footballer has made 17 appearances for Pyunik this season, providing 2 assists.

Matas delivered a farewell message ahead of his move to FK Žalgiris:

"I would like to thank everyone who contributed to giving me the opportunity to represent the legendary football club Pyunik. To all the fans, I want to say a big thank you for the love and warmth you showed me. I wish the club all the best this season. I’m not saying goodbye — I’m saying see you soon".
