In the last 3 matches of the championship Pyunik increased its stock of points by 9 having three victories in row and continues the struggle for champion title.

It is noteworthy that in all three matches Pyunik gained wins due to footballers come out as substitutes at the end of the matches.

In the current championship our team has last had such series of victories from day 3-5 when after three consecutive wins led the standings.

One of the central matches of the day as well as of the championship will be held in the upcoming 30th matchday which promises to clarify the winner of the championship; our team will be hosted by leader of the championship Ararat-Armenia.

Judging from the standings this match can be described as “a match for 6 points”. In case of win Pyunik will equalize its points with Ararat-Armenia and, moreover, due to a better result gained in   the matches between the two teams will surpass the leader of the championship topping the standings. Otherwise, if the luck is on the side of Ararat-Armenia it will get an advantage of 6 points over Pyunik and it will be difficult practically to reach it in the remained matches.

During the current championship the teams have already met each other three times; so far Pyunik and Ararat-Armenia each have won once while the third match the teams have tied in a draw.

Last year on August 19 in the match of the 3rd day of Premier League held on Republican Stadium our team playing without its main lineup, with 10 players from the middle of the first half and conceding in the score (Robert Minasyan was sent off the pitch because of a handball in the own penalty area), nevertheless managed to celebrated a volitional victory, 3-1. Pyunik’s Hovhannes Ilangyozyan, Vitali Stezhko and Mohamed Konate became the authors of the goals then.

It is worth noting that it was Pyunik’s first match in the current championship because due to the participation in the Europa League our team’s matches of the first 2 days of the championship were put off.

Pyunik ended the away match of the 2nd round against Ararat-Armenia which was played again at Republican Stadium on October 21 in a goalless tie.

The last match between the teams took place on March 6 in the 21st day of the Premier League where Pyunik suffered an unpredictable defeat at home, 0-3.

The 4th match of this season against Ararat-Armenia will be spent at the Football Academy of Avan on May 1. The match will kick off at 15:00.

Pyunik defender Vitali Stezhko who had missed the previous match because of disqualification will be able to take part in the upcoming match. As it was mentioned earlier our team midfielder Alik Arakelyan after an injury got in the match against Gandzasar-Kapan won’t be able to play the remained matches of the championship.
