Pyunik head coach Yeghishe Melikyan and team goalkeeper Henri Avagyan held a pre-match press conference before the match of the Conference League first round against Tre Fiori.

Henri Avagyan, who had returned to Pyunik after a short break, spoke about the changes in the team, his physical condition and his expectations from the upcoming European matches.

“I am happy to be back. There are some changes in the team, particularly concerning the players, but the general ideas and goals have remained the same. I have worked with Melikyan for two years and I know very well the values of the team. The expectations, as always, are high. I don’t want to talk about the opponent, we are more concerned about our game. We need to show our best qualities and achieve a positive result,” said Henri Avagyan.

Speaking about the training camp in Georgia, Yeghishe Melikyan, presented the current state of the team and its preparation.

“We ended our player selection late, as a result of which we didn’t manage to do some things during the training camp. But now we are working focused in order not to face problems in official games. The team is well-focused. I see concentration and aim in everyone. Spring has left its impact on us, and now we are trying to change both opinions, statistics and results. The goal remains the same - to reach the group stage.”

Speaking about the opponent, the coach emphasized:

“No team must be underestimated. The opponent has acquired several new players. Today, motivation is a decisive factor in football. We are ready and want to win.”
