In Round 14 of the Armenian Women’s Premier League, Pyunik Girls hosted Urartu Girls. This match was significant, as a victory would see our girls crowned champions of Armenia for the third consecutive year ahead of schedule.
In the first half, Ani Karapetyan opened the scoring, but after the break Urartu Girls equalized through Milena Sayadyan to make it 1:1.
However, in the 62nd minute, the league’s top scorer Veronika Asatryan netted the winning goal, which turned out to be the championship-clinching one. It is worth noting that from the 71st minute our team played with ten players, as Rozalina Yeritsyan was sent off after receiving her second yellow card.
It should also be added that the team led by Manuk Sargsyan has won all 13 matches played so far this season, making this latest championship title more than deserved.
